Things Found In Books
Boo Hewerdine and Yvonne Lyon are singer/songwriters who have written and recorded an album called ‘Things Found In Books’. The songs were inspired by a notice board in Culzean Castle’s second-hand bookshop in Ayrshire.
Notes, photographs, old receipts, letters, postcards and fragments of people’s lives had been collected from the old books and kept on the board. I was immediately fascinated by this concept and wanted to explore it further by making a documentary about it.
It was a challenging project to produce due to the strict filming regulations and location of the Castle, but the effort payed off!. The shoot took two days and post production is ongoing untill the release of the album. The aim is to create a series of social reels for promotion and a 15min film for festivals.
