2026 – Assistant Series Producer c5 Milkshake!

I worked as Series Assistant Producer on Daisybeck Studios Love Nature: Young Voices for C5 Milkshake! It’s on the telly right now, weekdays at 9am until Friday the 13th Feb.

The series brings together 10 emerging filmmakers to create 10 x 3-minute films celebrating nature and encouraging children and their families to explore the outdoors in playful, creative ways.  My role involved mentoring the filmmakers, shaping scripts and locations, supporting shoots, timetabling schedules and making sure our young contributors felt confident and excited to be involved. I also had the pleasure of directing the final episode called ‘Cress Heads’.

Joy O’ Dance

Dance is more than movement. It’s belonging, expression and strength. Joy O’ Dance follows young performers in Yorkshire as they prepare for a milestone show, embracing the discipline of traditional ballet with a down-to-earth Yorkshire spirit. Twin sisters perform a farewell duet before heading to university, childhood friends reflect on years of training, and boys push back against stereotypes as they follow their passion. The film shows how dance builds confidence, deepens friendships and supports mental well-being. Through personal stories and mesmerising choreography, Joy O’ Dance captures the joy, resilience and connection that come through movement, proving that ballet belongs to everyone.

The film was partially funded through IndieGoGo and has gone on to screen at festivals.

2025 – Editor
Shock Horror – Thunder Road Theatre Company
I don’t usually include social-first work in my credits, but Shock Horror was too good to miss. I edited suspenseful, cinematic promos for social media, capturing the show’s playful horror style and helping to promote the production with striking creative content.

2025-26 – Creative Camera Operator & Editor
Brainland
Directed by Chiara D’Anna, an acclaimed theatre and movement director known for her innovative approach to performance. This experimental short film uses puppetry and an operatic score to tell the story of Dr. Walter Freeman, the American neurologist who popularised the lobotomy. Dark, surreal and highly imaginative, the film explores themes of mental health and controversial medicine through striking visuals and sound. My role combines creative camera operation and editing, shaping the film’s distinctive look and unsettling atmosphere. The project is currently a work in progress, with more filming and editing to come.

Who Cares?
Music video for the Independent Care Group’s charity single, co-written by Brian Johnson and Ivor Novello-nominated Boo Hewerdine. I collaborated closely with the director, contributing ideas and helping to direct contributors, while seeking out emotive moments between families, care home residents and carers. This was one of the most enjoyable projects I’ve worked on, as the humanity and kindness of everyone involved shone through. Sponsored by Hempsons, proceeds from the song support The Care Workers’ Charity.

Things Found In Books

Boo Hewerdine and Yvonne Lyon are singer/songwriters who have written and recorded a new album called ‘Things Found In Books’, due for release January 2025.  The songs were inspired by a notice board in Culzean Castle’s second-hand bookshop in Ayrshire. 

Notes, photographs, old receipts, letters, postcards and fragments of people’s lives had been collected from the old books and kept on the board.  I was immediately fascinated by this concept and wanted to explore it further by making a documentary about it.

2023 – Director & Editor

Tarn & Moon

This micro documentary delves into the enchanting world of a modern-day Witch who crafts and sells her own medicinal teas.  Discover her unique blend of ancient wisdom and contemporary practices as she harnesses the power of nature to heal and inspire her community.

This film also formed part of a sizzle for a documentary about Witchcraft, set to start production in 2026 

2023 – Producer & Colourist

The Last Xplorers

Short 3-minute Sci Fi film, shot on a virtual production stage.

I have recently gained a level 3 qualification in virtual production.  I wanted to learn about the post-production workflow and what problems an LED volume can create and solve.  To put my new skills to the test I produced this short film.

Poor Tom  – Short period drama film

Poor Tom is based on a true story about a disabled boy in the 1800s who finds hope in religion.

2023 – Director & Editor

Golden Bonds – Reclaiming Roots – A Dance of Hope

Filmed in collaboration with and featuring the vibrant people of the Rastrick and Elland communities near Halifax.  The 3 experimental documentary films explore the relationships between community, vocal history, wellbeing and improvised dance. 

The films were screened as part of the Welland exhibition (July-Sept 2023) and commissioned by not-for-profit organisation, Curious Motion.  

2023 – Visual Artist

Projection Map Installation at Ripon Workhouse.

A projection-mapped light show that was commissioned by Ripon Museums Trust.
I worked alongside 10-16yr olds to produce an abstract installation that focused on the themes and history of Ripon Workhouse. We used hand-drawn stopmotion and photographic light graffiti to create an experimental light show that was projected onto the front of the museum.  Find out more here.

2022 – 2nd Assistant Editor

‘A Cuban Girl’s Guide To Tea & Tomorrow’.  Netflix Feature Film

Over the course of 6 weeks I worked to deliver dailies and rushes to the production and post departments.

Working nights, I’d receive the hard drives from set and ingest them using Davinci Resolve, applying LUT’s, punch-in’s and burn-in’s to the footage.  The rushes would then be transcoded and ingested into Avid where they’d be synced, named and QC’d.  The dailies would then be sent back to set for review and the Avid bins, MXF and audio files were sent to the edit team in California.

2022 – Director & Editor

‘Memory’ – Short documentary series, Ripon Museums Trust

Commissioned as part of a dementia and isolation art project.   I was tasked with creating short stories inspired by objects that spark memories.  My role was to shoot and edit a series of 1-3 min videos.  The videos were screened as part of an art exhibition in 2023.

2021 – Stopmotion Animator

‘Ann Lupton Story’ 3 min film, Ripon Museums Trust

I was asked to write, produce and animate a short story about a girl who entered Ripon Workhouse in the 1800’s.  I created a simple multiplane camera set up and used stock images printed onto card.  These were then painted, cut and animated.  The film was inspired by the art of Terry Gilliam and is used as a museum exhibit to educate visitors.

I have been teaching stopmotion animation for 20 years so to be asked to create a short animation was a highlight. 

2021 –  Editor & DIT

‘Brass’ 40 min – Unscripted Documentary

‘Brass’ is a fly on the wall episodic documentary series which follows a quirky family who run a reclamation business in the Yorkshire Dales.

In post I combed through over 20hrs of rushes to establish a narrative.  Working alongside the Director remotely from ingest to final cut. 

As DIT I worked on location in Ingleton North Yorkshire and was responsible for establishing a workflow with the camera and sound teams, backing up dailies, transcoding, applying LUT’s and inputting metadata.

I was asked to produce a short documentary film about a choirs experience recording an album at the famous recording studio. 

2013 – Co-Editor

‘Lad A Yorkshire Story’ – 1hr 36min Feature Film. Watch on Amazon Prime & My5

While on set I backed up camera cards, created proxy files and synced sound.  I also edited scenes for quick reference while filming.  I was originally hired as the Assembly Editor but the Director asked me to Co-Edit the film because he was impressed with my professionalism and creativity.  The film was released independently in cinemas and went on to win multiple awards.  It also reached No.5 in the UK Independent Chart and was broadcast on Channel 5 in 2022.

2008-12 – Video Editor

I was tasked with re-editing episodes of Dragons’ Den for James’ YouTube channel, I also cut showreels, PR videos, events and conference speeches.

I learned a great deal about business and professionalism while working with James whom I met at a Princes’ Trust event. 

2008 -09 – Camera Op & Editor

‘Boyzone’ Stadium tour social media

I was required to film and edit footage of the band before and after each show.  Following them behind the scenes, grabbing off the cuff remarks and interviews.  I would then capture the tapes and edit the rushes overnight.  Uploading the videos onto the Boyzone website and YouTube channel the next morning.  Creating a series of 3-5 min videos that got great reactions from fans.

2008-Present – Commercial Video Editor

I edit high-end videos for companies across the UK.  I pride myself on being a valuable team member who is reliable, efficient and professional.  The projects are very diverse and can include case studies, surgical videos, commercials, interviews, conferences and media for social channels
